What SEO services actually include

Good SEO services are three jobs done together: making your website easy for Google to crawl and understand (technical SEO), making every important page the best answer for a specific search (on-page and content), and earning the trust signals that push those pages up (authority). Most disappointments come from buying only one of the three.

When you work with me as your SEO consultant, the scope usually covers:

  • Technical SEO: crawling, indexation, site speed, Core Web Vitals, structured data, internal linking and redirects.
  • Keyword and page mapping: every commercial search term mapped to exactly one page, so your pages stop competing with each other.
  • On-page work: titles, headings, copy depth, FAQs and internal links rewritten around buyer intent.
  • Content clusters: a pillar page plus supporting articles that answer the questions buyers ask before they enquire.
  • Authority: digital PR, expert quotes and editorial links — never bought links.
  • Reporting: rankings, clicks and, most importantly, leads, in one dashboard.

The deliverable is not a 90-page audit PDF. It is a site that ranks for searches with buying intent, with the fixes actually shipped — because I implement them myself or hand your developer precise tickets.

Who SEO services are for — and when they are not the right move

SEO pays off best for businesses where customers search before they buy and the decision is worth researching: B2B suppliers, manufacturers, clinics, education providers, professional services, local service businesses and online stores with a defined niche. If your buyers type the problem into Google, an SEO expert can put you in front of them for years without paying per click.

It is the wrong first move in a few situations, and I will tell you so:

  • You need leads this month. SEO compounds over months. Run Google Ads alongside it while organic traffic builds.
  • Nobody searches for what you sell yet. For a brand-new category, demand creation (social, PR, LinkedIn) comes first.
  • The website cannot convert. Sending more traffic to a page that loses visitors wastes the work — fix the page first.
  • There is no budget for content. Rankings in competitive markets need pages that genuinely answer questions.

As an SEO consultant working across India and abroad, I would rather turn down a project than sell a retainer that cannot pay back. The first call is about whether search is a real channel for you — and how big.

How I run an SEO engagement, step by step
SEO services process: Crawl & audit → Fix the base → Build content → Earn authority → Compound
How a SEO Services engagement runs, step by step.

Every SEO engagement follows the same order, because the order is what makes it work. Content published on a site with crawl and indexation problems never performs the way it should.

  1. Crawl and audit (weeks 1–2). A full crawl, a Search Console and analytics review, a competitor gap analysis and a log-level look at how Google spends its crawl budget on your site.
  2. Fix the base (weeks 2–6). Technical SEO first: indexation, duplicate pages, redirects, speed, schema and internal links. These fixes often lift existing pages within weeks.
  3. Build content (month 2 onwards). Briefs for each page in the keyword map, drafted with AI assistance and edited by hand so every claim is accurate and every page sounds like you.
  4. Earn authority (month 3 onwards). Outreach, digital PR and expert commentary aimed at the pages that carry your money keywords.
  5. Compound (every quarter). Refresh pages that are slipping, expand winners, prune or merge thin pages.

You see the plan before work starts, the tasks as they ship and the numbers every month. That transparency is the main difference between hiring an independent SEO expert and buying a black-box package.

What SEO services cost in India

SEO pricing in India ranges from ₹5,000 a month for automated reports to several lakhs for enterprise programmes. The number that matters is not the fee — it is how much work actually gets done each month and whether it is aimed at revenue.

What changes the price

  • Competition: ranking a Kanpur clinic is a different job from ranking a national e-commerce category.
  • Site size and technical debt: a 30-page site and a 30,000-product store need very different technical SEO effort.
  • Content volume: the number of new or rewritten pages each month.
  • Authority work: PR and outreach take time and are often the biggest variable.

My SEO Growth Plan starts at ₹6,999* a month for a typical small-business scope: audit and keyword map, technical fixes implemented, on-page rewrites, content briefs and a monthly report. If you only want a diagnosis first, the Deep SEO Audit is ₹1,999*, and the fee is credited if you hire me afterwards.

Be cautious with very cheap SEO services that promise hundreds of backlinks or guaranteed positions. Those links are usually the kind Google ignores or penalises, and fixing a penalty costs far more than doing it properly once.

Timelines and the results to expect

The honest answer to "how long does SEO take?" is: it depends on where you start, but the pattern is predictable.

  • Weeks 2–8: technical SEO fixes land. Pages that were blocked, duplicated or slow start to recover. This is often the fastest visible gain.
  • Months 3–6: rewritten and new pages climb for mid-competition terms. Organic clicks and enquiries begin to rise.
  • Months 6–12: content clusters and authority work push competitive money keywords onto page one and keep them there.

For one B2B brand, this sequence doubled organic traffic in six months — and, more importantly, the traffic arrived on pages that produce enquiries. That is the result to aim for: not a ranking screenshot, but steady leads you do not pay for per click.

No SEO consultant can guarantee position one; anyone who does is either measuring a keyword nobody searches or taking a risk with your domain. What I commit to is the work, the transparency and a monthly view of whether it is paying back.

The SEO mistakes I see most often

Most sites I audit are not being held back by a missing secret tactic. They are held back by a handful of common, fixable mistakes:

  • Chasing keywords instead of owning topics. Fifty thin blog posts for fifty keyword variations rarely beat one genuinely useful page.
  • Keyword cannibalisation. Several pages targeting the same term, so Google ranks none of them well.
  • Ignoring technical SEO. Slow pages, broken redirects, missing canonical tags and orphaned pages quietly cap every other effort.
  • Writing for search engines, not buyers. Pages that rank but do not answer the buyer's real question do not convert.
  • Buying links. Cheap link packages are the fastest route to a manual action.
  • Measuring the wrong thing. Rankings for vanity terms instead of enquiries from search.
  • Stopping too early. SEO is cumulative; pausing after three months usually throws away most of the investment.

Fixing these in the right order is usually worth more than any new content — which is why every engagement starts with the audit.

Your first 90 days of SEO, month by month

A clear first quarter is the best predictor of whether SEO services will pay back. This is what the first 90 days look like when we work together:

Month 1 — diagnose and fix the base

The full crawl and audit, Search Console and GA4 review, competitor analysis and the keyword-to-page map. The first technical SEO fixes ship in the same month: indexation problems, redirects, broken internal links, missing titles and the slowest templates.

Month 2 — rebuild the money pages

Your most valuable service or category pages are rewritten around buyer intent: clearer headings, deeper answers, FAQs, schema and stronger internal links from the rest of the site. This is usually where the first ranking movement shows.

Month 3 — start the content and authority engine

The first cluster of supporting articles goes live, briefed from real buyer questions, and outreach begins for the pages that carry your money keywords. By the end of month three you should see technical health in green, rewritten pages climbing and a clear plan for the next quarter.

Every month ends with a short report: what shipped, what moved, what is next — written for a business owner, not an SEO expert.

Questions to ask any SEO consultant before you hire

Whether you hire me or someone else, these questions separate genuine SEO services from expensive reports:

  • Who will actually do the work? With agencies, the person on the sales call is rarely the person optimising your site.
  • Will you implement fixes or only recommend them? Recommendations that never ship change nothing.
  • How do you build links? If the answer involves packages of hundreds of links, walk away.
  • What will you report on? Insist on leads and revenue-linked metrics, not only rankings.
  • What happens in the first 30 days? A good SEO consultant can describe it precisely.
  • Can I see examples of results in a market like mine? Ask what was done, not just the outcome.
  • What is the minimum term, and what do I own if we stop? You should keep every page, report and account.

As an SEO expert in India working directly with founders, I am happy to answer every one of these on the first call — in writing if you prefer.

How SEO works with your other marketing

SEO is strongest when it is connected to the rest of your marketing rather than run in isolation:

  • Google Ads: search-term reports show which keywords actually convert, so SEO effort goes where the money is. Ads also cover gaps while organic rankings build.
  • Content marketing: every article supports a money page through internal links and topical depth.
  • Local SEO: for businesses with a location, the map pack often brings the fastest leads.
  • AI search optimisation: the same well-structured pages are what ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews cite.
  • CRO: a small lift in conversion rate multiplies the value of every visitor SEO brings.

That is why I plan SEO services with the whole funnel in view — technical SEO, content and conversion working towards the same number: qualified enquiries.

How to measure whether your SEO is working
SEO services KPIs: Organic leads, Money-page rankings, Organic clicks, Indexed, healthy pages
The numbers I report on every month (illustrative).

Good SEO reporting answers one question: is organic search bringing in more of the right customers? Every month I report on four numbers, with a short note on what changed and what happens next.

  • Organic leads: form fills, calls and WhatsApp clicks that started with a Google search, tracked properly in GA4.
  • Money-page rankings: positions for the terms that sell — tracked by page, not as an average of everything.
  • Organic clicks: Search Console clicks to pages that can convert, not total traffic.
  • Technical health: indexed pages, crawl errors and Core Web Vitals, so problems are caught before they cost rankings.

A quick self-check

  • Do you know which pages bring in enquiries from search?
  • Does each commercial keyword have exactly one target page?
  • Have you checked Search Console's indexing report in the last month?
  • Is your site fast on a mid-range phone?

If any answer is "no", start with the free Website SEO Grader or book a Deep SEO Audit — then decide whether you need full SEO services.

FAQ

SEO services questions, answered.

13 straight answers to what people ask me most about SEO Services. Still unsure? Send a quick message — I reply within 24 hours.

Still have a question?

Ask me directly — no bots, no sales team.

When will I see rankings?

Technical wins land in weeks; competitive terms usually take three to six months.

Do you guarantee position one?

No, and be careful with anyone who does. I commit to process, reporting and compounding traffic.

Who writes the content?

I brief and draft with AI assistance, then edit by hand. Your team can also write to my briefs.

Do you buy links?

No. Editorial, PR-led links only.

Can you work with my developer?

Yes — I hand over prioritised, specific tickets.

How much do SEO services cost per month in India?

My SEO Growth Plan starts at ₹6,999* a month for a typical small-business scope. The final quote depends on competition, site size and how much content you need — I confirm it after a short call.

What is the difference between technical SEO and on-page SEO?

Technical SEO makes your site easy for Google to crawl, index and load fast. On-page SEO makes each page the best answer to a specific search — titles, headings, copy and internal links. You need both.

Why should I hire an independent SEO consultant instead of an agency?

You work directly with the person doing the work. There are no account managers, no junior hand-offs and no padding — just the SEO expert who audits your site, ships the fixes and explains the results.

Will SEO work for a small local business?

Yes, often faster than for national brands, because local competition is lower. Combine on-site SEO with local SEO and a well-run Google Business Profile for the best results.

Do you write the content or do I?

Either. I can write every page with AI assistance and careful human editing, or brief your team precisely so they write to a plan that ranks.

Can SEO and Google Ads work together?

Yes, and they should. Ads bring leads while SEO builds, and search-term data from ads shows which keywords convert — so SEO effort goes where the money is.

What do you need from me to start?

Access to Google Search Console, Google Analytics, your website and a 30-minute call about your customers and best-selling services. I handle the rest.

What happens if we stop SEO after a few months?

Rankings you have earned do not disappear overnight, but competitors keep publishing. Most of the value of SEO comes from compounding, so stopping early usually leaves money on the table.
